Broadway at the Beach

I'll be singing tonight out on Fire Island at the Ice Palace Hotel for the final performance of this summer's Broadway at the Beach. The line up is packed with some great performers including my college bud Kasey Marino. Showtime is 9pm. Creep on by if you fancy.

Marriage Equality Rally!

World renowned human rights activist Cleve Jones is calling for a National March on Washington D.C. on OCTOBER 11, 2009, to demand full equality for all people in all matters governed by civil law. As tax paying citizens working within the largest tourist industry in New York City, it is now time for the members of our great theatre community and all of our fans to realize the power our collective voice holds and use it to call out to the world.Join Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, BroadwayImpact, The Cast of HAIR, and The Public Theater on August 28th at 2:30 pm for a community-wide mobilization meeting at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Enter the park at 81 and central park west or
79th and 5th. See you there!

GLAAD Manhattan

I attended GLAAD Manhattan as an honorary host last night. GLAAD's biggest summer fundraiser, was held on the 20th Floor Rooftop at 230 Fifth (corner of 27th Street and 5th Ave). The views were beautiful and the place was packed. Other guests included:Jill Zarin and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps from Real Housewives of NYC; comedian Lisa Lampanelli; Jane Krakowski; Michael Urie and many others. It's an incredible organization that does so much to promote and ensure fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

The Circus

I scored some comps from my insiders with Britney yesterday and saw her Circus Tour at MSG! It was amazing. I had the best time at the sold out show. She looks great and put on a terrific performance. Well done and thanks for the tickets!

Far Out

FAR OUT invaded Greenwich Village on Saturday night and will be sticking around for 4 more performances: Wednesday, August 26 at 8 pm, Thursday, August 27 at 4:15 pm, Saturday, August 29 at 5 pm, and Sunday, August 30 at 2:45 pm at the Minetta Lane Theatre, 18 Minetta
Lane (North side of Minetta Lane between 6th Avenue and MacDougal Street).

Running time is 1 hour and 50 minutes with one intermission.

FAR OUT-The New Sci-Fi Musical Comedy is a whacky and whimsical musical valentine to all those grade B-sci-fi-alien-invasion movies Hollywood made in the 1950's. It's an intergalactic clash of worlds when the alien Supreme Leader-a singing-eyeball-diva (with the legs and voice of
Tina Turner)-and her entourage encounter an atomic-age desert town in the midst of the cold war, its local mad scientist, small town sheriff, extreme-army Colonel, and Sock Hop-obsessed teens, not to mention a pair of (literally) star-crossed young lovers.

Birdland Debut

Thank you to everyone who attended my Birdland Debut Concert. I was surrounded by such an encouraging energy and was overwhelmed that it was a sell out. I had a great time sharing myself and my stories. My band killed it and my musical director James Sampliner made it all happen. A huge thank you to the staff at Birdland, Michael James Scott, my incredible family, friends, and fans who made it a special night.
