I attended the New York premiere screening of Every Little Step last night at the Paris theatre accompanied by my brother Anthony David Adams. The documentary about actors auditioning for a musical is a celebration not only of what it means to be a professional dancer on Broadway but also of the iconic musical, A Chorus Line, that captured it so well. The documentary interweaves the casting of the revival, over 3,000 actors auditioned for the production, with footage and interviews with the original creators, including star Donna McKechnie, composer Marvin Hamlisch, and Bennett associate and friend Bob Avian. Watching this film again was such a bitter sweet experience. Not only did it remind me of how much I miss performing A Chorus Line on Broadway, but it also refreshed my perspective of my dream. I love this life and am so fortunate to do what I do. Thank you for making this film. It sheds insight on what it means to be a dancer, to pursue a dream, and the brilliance that is A Chorus Line.
Such a great movie. I saw it last night at the Sunset 5. I'm spending the weekend tracking down some of the talent that was featured for Gaywired to do a "where are they now" for next week.
