Live Out Loud Spring Gala

Hosting the Live Out Loud Spring Gala last night was an incredible eye opening experience. I was so excited about being there and sharing my story with everyone in attendance because of the strong connection I feel to the organizations goals. I can only hope that my journey may inspire someone else to live out loud and proud. It was extremely moving and I look forward to working with this non profit again and again.
Tribeca

I attended the premiere of "An Englishman in New York" during the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center on April 27, 2009 in New York City with my brother Anthony. We loved the film. A huge thank you to Calvin Klein for my clothes.

An Englishman at Tribeca

My film debut, An Englishman in New York, will premiere monday night at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival. Richard Laxton's An Englishman in New York, which is a smart, sensitive drama that reveals the wild and dark days of gay culture in the pivotal era surrounding the outbreak of the AIDS crisis. John Hurt reprises the role of English writer, Quentin Crisp, and is joined by Cynthia Nixon, Denis O'Hare, Jonathan Tucker, and Swoosie Kurtz in an important film that paints a picture of Crisp's life in New York City in the early 80's.
CBS GAY News on LOGO

Tomorrow April 23 at 7pm on the LOGO network, a CBS News feature will air that profiles yours truly. Itay Hod interviews and documents a day in the life of Nick Adams. We meet up at New York Health and Racquet Club, go to lunch, and then tour the Nederlander with a full interview in the theatre before the show.
Miss-ed USA
These women are savvy, goal-oriented and aware. The delegates who become part of the Miss Universe Organization display those characteristics in their everyday lives, both as individuals, who compete with hope of advancing their careers, personal and humanitarian goals, and as women who see to improve the lives of others.(missusa.com)
Nothing about Miss California's answer to the question of Gay Marriage says "humanitarian" nor does it coincide with improving the lives of others. Discrimination does not promote human welfare.

Every Little Step

I attended the New York premiere screening of Every Little Step last night at the Paris theatre accompanied by my brother Anthony David Adams. The documentary about actors auditioning for a musical is a celebration not only of what it means to be a professional dancer on Broadway but also of the iconic musical, A Chorus Line, that captured it so well. The documentary interweaves the casting of the revival, over 3,000 actors auditioned for the production, with footage and interviews with the original creators, including star Donna McKechnie, composer Marvin Hamlisch, and Bennett associate and friend Bob Avian. Watching this film again was such a bitter sweet experience. Not only did it remind me of how much I miss performing A Chorus Line on Broadway, but it also refreshed my perspective of my dream. I love this life and am so fortunate to do what I do. Thank you for making this film. It sheds insight on what it means to be a dancer, to pursue a dream, and the brilliance that is A Chorus Line.

V for Victory
Vermont became the fourth state to approve same-sex marriages. And they were the first to do so through legislation. Congratulations. Another success as we get closer to acceptance and equal civil rights for all.

Roundabout

I had the privilege of performing along side Brooke Shields last night at the Roundabout Theatre's Spring Gala. The event was hosted by Tony Award winner Nathan Lane (Waiting for Godot, The Producers).
Roundabout took their guests back in time to the heyday of big bands and classic songs in New York City with a unique evening called "Take Me Back to Manhattan" at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd St, NYC).
For one night only, Roundabout recreated a swanky nightclub circa 1940 featuring the music of the day's great composers: Rodgers, Porter, Arlen, Berlin, Ellington, Gershwin and more. The golden age was recaptured as guests were treated to a gourmet dinner, live auction and the highlight of the evening, an original musical revue created by Tony Award® winner Kathleen Marshall, director and choreographer of The Pajama Game and Grease. The revue featured today's hottest Broadway stars revisiting the classic songs that were the popular hits of the day.

Ought to give IOWA a try...
Iowa becomes the first state in the Midwest to allow same sex marriage! Unanimously the Iowa Supreme Court decided that a 1998 law banning same sex marriage is unconstitutional. This is a huge day for equality! Way to GO!
